RaveScanner is the scanning app behind the R.A.V.E. archive: a non-profit Swiss association that digitizes one of Europe's largest techno vinyl collections and makes it accessible to the public.

Three chapters, one goal: to preserve electronic music culture — and make it accessible.
R.A.V.E. (Research, Archiving & Mediation of Electronic Music) is a non-profit Swiss association dedicated to preserving electronic music culture.
The project originated from the idea of preserving one of Switzerland's largest techno vinyl collections, with over 20,000 records from 1995–2005, not by selling or splitting it, but by preserving it as a cultural archive for the public.
Today, R.A.V.E. is working to make electronic music history accessible — a place where DJs, collectors, music lovers, and future generations can experience this culture.

We archive, digitize, and document records from the electronic music scene — from Techno and Trance to Progressive and Acid.
To do this, we develop our own technologies and processes to efficiently capture and secure large vinyl collections for the long term.
Our goal is not just a physical archive with listening stations, workshops, and community offerings, but also a digital system that sustainably preserves electronic music history.

While working on the archive, it quickly became clear how time-consuming digitizing thousands of records is. That's why we developed an AI-based scanner app that recognizes vinyls by photo, automatically matches them with Discogs, and integrates them into our own archive system.
The technology was originally developed for our internal archive — today, we are also making it available to the public.
